Not only are we obsessed with Broncos, but obsessed with camping?!

My name is Ashley, and I’m obsessed! Broncos, vintage vehicles, camping, camping in vintage vehicles! I have been camping long before I started traveling with Mae Pearl, mostly for long vacations throughout the year. I will continue to do so until the day I say "I’m retired” and travel full time.

I’m always thinking of the ways that I can camp. Since I started traveling and exploring the places I never been, I found that I am able to sleep both in my Bronco or just outside of her (weather permitting) with ease. Before Mae, I had an H3, a Jeep, and a Mercedes that made a decent bed for my tiny self (5’4") - at least for a night or two until a shower was called for! (I’m still researching the ways of how and what kind of shower I’d like to add to my camping routine.)

As for now, I've been focused on trying out different mattress’, different cots, and different ground tents. I’m also what you call one of those handy/crafty people... 'what do I have around my house that can work?!!' Couch cushions, yes you read that right! I’ve experimented with my very own couch cushions. Today I prefer using a small crib mattress for sleeping in the Bronco - it’s perfect for me and for my two door Bronco.

As for sleeping in the great outdoors, I’ve found the perfect cot that’s lightweight and easy to pack. Normally in colder, wetter weather I stay in the Bronco, but during the summer and fall months, I prefer my tents.
There are two tents that I use - I have an easy up A-Frame and a recently purchased tent that my friend Kelly M. turned me onto after our White Rim Road adventure.

It’s also in that recent trip I bought a Buddy heater and a power bank to help out on those chilly nights. Now I’m dang near prepared for any night under the stars. As the next few months approach, it’s more camping, fires, and time enjoyed with my dog Birdie.
